CarbonioGFT Force Carbon fins description

Back in 2018 CarbonioGFT joined forces with Nano-Tech SpA, a company that specialises in increasing the performance of the standard composite materials used in the specific application of various fields – including the aerospace industry. This combination redefined the technology and manufacture of carbon blades.

This amazing venture resulted in the FORCE blade. It became the first freediving and spearfishing carbon blade that employs a nanotechnology process for the carbon production.

Thickness

The CarbonioGFT Force fin is one of the thinnest carbon blades on the market. This unique application of nanotechnology solved issues where the fin needs to be thicker at certain structural stress points. The standard carbon blade is usually thin at both ends, but to prevent a break the angles are made thicker which affects the performance of that specific part of the blade. This part is responsible for actually displacing the water.

The typical carbon fin tries to achieve an extremely thin angle section – usually pushing the boundaries of making the blade structurally fragile. This part of the blade can become even more stressed when the diver requires an even bigger angle of the blade like 32°. But with the introduction by CarbonioGFT of nanotechnology this problem is now solved. The results in a very thin and light, but very strong blade.

Weight

Another advantage of the introduction of nanotechnology is the unique lightness. This is achieved due to the thinner blade when compared with a traditional carbon fin. This reduction in weight allows the diver to use less effort and an increase in finning thrust.

Water channelling

Another unique feature of the CarbonioGFT Force fin is that the surface of the GFT Force is not flat. Instead, it has a wavy profile. This new feature provides an amazing response with the parallel waves and giving delicate channels. Instead of the water dispersing in different directions, the displaced water is channelled through the entire length of the blade. This, combined with the lateral rails, results in an optimised kick.

Torsion adaptation

Italian freediving champion Federico Mana applaudes the unique behaviour of the CarbonioGFT Force Carbon fins due to the fact that it twists and adapts itself to eliminate the differences in the diver’s finning technique. The implementation of nanotechnology has made the blade very flexible – in the water it tends to stand perpendicularly to the vector of the thrust. This means that the fin always tends to assume the best thrust position when displacing the water – even when the diver doesn’t have a perfect finning technique.

The Force carbon blade is able to absorb technical mistakes and always thrust with great efficiency.

Blade rigidity/stiffness

The CarbonioGFT Force Carbon blade comes in 3 different versions in accordance with the diver’s weight:

Force 1 – less than 60 kg
Force 2 – 61-79 kg
Force 3 – over 80 kg

Please choose the correct rigidity from the options provided.

Blade angle options

Angle 32° – Recommended for divers who cover long surface distances, because the fin remains underwater and does not lose energy. This 32° angle minimises fatigue and is ideal in rough conditions. When finning from the the bottom, keep your legs a bit more wider to achieve maximum thrust.

Angle 24° – Recommended for boat divers as it offers immediate maximum thrust when leaving the bottom.

Please choose the blade angle from the options provided.

Dimensions

Length: 850 mm
Width: 200 mm
Weight: < 200 gr (naked blade)

Due to the custom nature of these fins they will take approximately 7 to 21 days to deliver and are not refundable/exchangeable. Please ensure you pay attention to sizing, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you require any help.
Why not add Picasso Fin Savers to your order and never lose a fin in the white water by an ill-timed wave.
Also ensures all the energy is passed from the foot and transferred down the blade.
