The Cressi Cherokee Open speargun has the same basic characteristics of the Geronimo model but with many new technological innovations. It has kept all the best features – durability and ergonomics – and has added cutting-edge technical solutions and advancements.

The brown camouflaged frame is anticorodal and has been improved with integrated spear guide and lower anti-bending reinforcement. The handle has sternal support and a soft interchangeable high-low position. The release box is made entirely of stainless steel and has a lateral guide line release with automatic return and buckling tooth stroke damper.

The new butt on the Cherokee Open has also evolved from the Geronimo model and now has multiple enhancements and anatomical modifications which improve grip, resistance to bending and overall handling.

The oversized enhanced trigger guard and trigger is aligned with the barrel which eliminates inertia when firing. There is also an integrated swivel safety – thumb activated. The shaft coupling point is 5cm back to optimise the bands’ dynamic propulsion and to also prolong it for the longer barrel.

The new metal trigger mechanism was developed 100% by Cressi Italia. It combines self-lubricating Teflon elements and stainless steel which minimises friction. It has an amazing balance between the sensitivity of the trigger and accidental decoupling resistance – even when used in conjunction with powerful dual bands.

The muzzle is minimal but has an extremely robust opening so dual bands can be used. The cobra head of the muzzle is designed to soften the angle of the bands so they are more efficient and have less friction or tension – this increases the life span of the bands. The design is such that if used with dual bands they both work equally without any interference.

The muzzle uses field lead on the lower part in stainless steel which also functions as a thread loop – when dual pass is being used.

The head has a double elastic spear lock. This means that as soon as the spear is in place it will be held by two magnets mounted in a watertight chamber. This ensures maximum speed of reset without the conventional disadvantages of mechanical restraint systems.

The Cressi Cherokee Open speargun is supplied assembled and ready for use. Also includes multifilament braided nylon and 6.5 mm spear with small 17-4 ph steel fins.
