September blog

cod2September is a key month in the UK spearfishing calendar! Firstly it has been a busy month for us, getting our website live for you, so we have not been in the water as much as we like. Titus managed to break his hand, his foot and an eardrum in Ascension so is out of the water for a bit! Off Portland we anticipate excellent catches of bass and bream this month, with the huge shoals of black bream likely to hang around til the end of October.

Cod activity is still good, with a definite resurgence locally of this species which is great news. It used to be the case that we might see one a season if we were lucky, this year we tend to see them on every dive.

Spearfishing should be good for bass locally until the very end of November, so plenty of action left in the season!
